Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the common questions we receive from case managers, care navigators, hospital discharge planners, and referring providers.

If you have any questions we haven't addressed, feel free to reach out to us by emailing partnerships@thirdspace-therapy.com

Are you currently accepting new patients?

Yes. We are currently accepting new patients for individual, couples, and family therapy in Arizona, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

What age groups do you provide care for?

Third Space Therapy provides care to patients ranging from 5 years old to 65 and older.

What languages do you provide care in?

We provide therapy in English and Spanish.

What qualifications do your therapists have?

Our therapists are trained, experienced, and licensed professionals in their state or jurisdiction. They also hold relevant academic degrees and are licensed by their state board, completing the necessary education, exams, training, and practice requirements.

What conditions do you treat?

We offer services for conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, trauma, grief & loss, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, panic disorder, and more.

What conditions do you not treat?

While we aim to serve a wide range of clients, there are certain high-acuity conditions that fall outside our scope of practice. These include severe personality disorders, active substance use disorders that require intensive treatment, and situations involving active suicidal or homicidal ideation. In these cases, we refer clients to the appropriate specialists and work closely with emergency medical services to ensure they receive the necessary care.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

No. We do not prescribe any medication or controlled substances to our patients.

What’s the typical duration of treatment?

The duration of treatment varies for each patient and depends on their specific goals.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Yes! Third Space works with several insurance plans, including Medicaid. You can browse all the insurance plans we accept here.

How does the billing process work?

After each session, our billing team will review the patient's chart and prepare an insurance claim. The claim is then sent to the insurance company for adjudication. Once the insurance company has processed the claim, any expenses not covered by insurance become the patient's responsibility. Third Space will then send statements and payment reminders to the patient to address these remaining balances.

How can a patient cancel or reschedule an appointment?

If a patient needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible at (833) 244-4878.

If an appointment is not canceled, it will count as a "no-show." After more than three "no-shows" or two consecutive "no-shows," Third Space won't reach out to reschedule the appointment.

Please read our No-Show & Cancellation Policy for more information.

What equipment does a patient need to attend a telehealth appointment for therapy?

Getting started with telehealth requires just a few basics: a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection.

How does Third Space protect patient's privacy and security?

The information patients share with us and the therapist is protected by data privacy laws. To learn more, browse our Privacy Policy.
